This film did throughly upset the Terminator fan in me. More so than Terminator Three.
Firstly... what happened to the Terminator Timeline. I understand there are many different theories on timetravel... but... what the hell? Apparently, John Connor no longer remembers the past? Or anything that happened in terminator 2.
Secondly, what happened to the story, there wasnt much to begin with, but there was a plot being followed, then marcus wright meets some chick, and it turns into a mish mash of Christian Bale talking and shouting like Batman, and Sam Worthington shouting back before rushing to a finale of an explosion.
Thirdly, DIALOUGE like a 90's action movie with as many one liners from the previous terminator films crammed in as possible... what more do i have to say.
Fourth, Cliché, so so so so cliché it was unreal. I know its a movie and to suspend my belief BUT CMON.
\\SPOILERS! Skip part 5 if you havent seen the film.
Fifth, AGAIN, i know i shouls suspend my disbelief BUT SINCE WHEN, can a human survive a 3 inch by 3 inch steel girder being shoved through your chest... not only does he survive, he survives until sunrise, after a long helicopter ride, back to base... and THEN for another few hours whilst a hear transplant is carried out... EXCUSE ME, but thats just too unreal for me to even comprehend. ALSO since when does a guy thats made of metal, weighing about a tonne, been able to float on the surface of water... now the film didnt explain weither he had lungs or not, but im gonna guess not jugding by the images we see of his open chest, and even if he did, i dont think the normal lung capcity contains enough oxygen to keep 1 tonne afloat.
\\SPOILER END.
Lastly, is it me or is Christian Bale becoming kinda like Keanu Reeves.
NOW what was wonderful was the cinematography... some great camera work by the crew in there and some nice sweeoing shots. Wonderful CG also, very nice machines rendered, and a nice version of CG arnie in there. Great costumes and great action direction, nice action scenes!
In conclusion, For action, cinemaography and CG this film is great, but for story, a general together-ness, and dialouge this film is horrible. Im not even sure if i'd buy it on DVD... maybe once it hits the bargain bin.
In other news, HI, whats up DA? Im cool, not been up to much, work and the usual stuff of life, not much fun as of late... thinking about watching the entire run of Battlestar Galactica (the newer series) Again from the pilots to the end of season 4

haha that could have a normal DA meaning,
or a sinister *stalker* kind of watching.
you decide. O.o
